PLEASE REFER TO THE TECHNICAL INFORMATION BEFORE COMMENCING
Size
Approx. 35cm x 45cm (all layers cut 37 x 47cm)
Materials
- Variety of dressmaking fabrics chosen solely for their circles (especially the spotted jaguar in Circles 2), a tiny remnant saved for this purpose).
- Any fabric for back
- Thin wadding if needed
- Elastic and buttons for Circles 1
- Shoelaces and buttons for Circles 2
ORDER OF ASSEMBLY
- Using the shape and size of patterned fabrics as they come, join together with at least one solid fabric as divider.
- Assemble the layers.
- Draw 2-3 circles on the quilt top – I used chalk to draw around plates and bowls in the chosen spots.
- I deliberately placed one of the circles in Circles 1 over a bike wheel with the intention of placing a button on the wheel hub.
- Stitch the circles in place,
- Trim and bind the quilts.
- Cover the joins of the circles with a button.
